Souza Defends Regan’s Obama Jab

Mary Souza of OpenCDA.com is fully engaged in damage control for Coeur d'Alene School Trustee Brent Regan, whom she describes as "a very smart conservative and ... the newest member of the CdA School Board, which puts him directly in the crosshairs of many at the Teachers Union and the (Coeur d'Alene) Press. Souza claims that the Press went out of its way to paint Regan as a racist for his comments at the legislative forum in Post Falls Saturday comparing President Obama to an assault rifle. Quoth Mary: " Brent relayed a personal story about a comment his wife made, which he deemed to be humorous, and the Press went all out to make look racist.  He is not.  But the Union wants to paint everyone on the current conservative School Board as being radical, racist, hicks-from-the-sticks." Actually, Press reporter David Cole mentioned Regan's comment at the bottom of a long story about the legislative forum. If anything, Cole went out of his way not to highlight the quote. You can read the rest of Mary's spin here.
