Letter: Local GOP Is Party Of ‘No’

It’s amazing how the current Republican Party is trying to stifle diverse opinions! They have their small minds made up and they get angry if anyone doesn’t go along with their plan. I’ve been a Republican for many years, but find it shocking the extreme ideas the far right want to force on everyone else. How dare they! Frank Henderson said, “I voted for the state insurance exchange to keep it out of the hands of the Federal government. We don’t lose local control this way.” His reasoning is very logical. After all, Obamacare is currently the law of the land. So get used to it and deal with it. I appreciate Committeeman Luke Sommers’ stopping this effort in its tracks. The extreme right are trying to force out good people that are moderate Republicans. Woe to you if you succeed in this effort. The current Republican Party is not known for compromise and working on the issues concerning our government. You’ve become the party of “no”/Jackie Velez, Post Falls, letter to Coeur d'Alene Press. More here.

Question: Did the Far Right go too far when it tried to use its control of the Kootenai County GOP Central Committee to censure respected Post Falls Rep. Frank Henderson and three other legislators?
