Digger: Market Will Weed ‘Em Out

Digger (Re: Bakery that refused to serve gays shuts): This is where I disagree with the mainstream gay community. I'm all about the free market and the conversation isn't going to go like this:

  • "Bake us a cake for our gay wedding."
  • "No, I don't want to for (insert whatever reason here)"
  • "YES YOU MUST TAKE OUR GAY MONEY!"

Seriously people, lighten up on this for just a bit. I know the left is all about rooting out racism and bigotry and putting these people in the town square to be tarred and feathered but they will seriously go away over time as more people quit doing business with them. Spazz and I been discriminated against in car buying, house renting, dining out and you name it because we're gay (not all in Moscow or North Idaho - speaking in our general life terms over 8 years together all around the west coast) and we choose to make our statement with our dollars, not an attorney.

Question: Do you agree/disagree with Digger -- that the free market, not the law, should deal with businesses that refused to serve gays?
