Hearn: CSB To Discuss Nonbias Policy

On his Facebook page, Chairman Tom Hearn of the Coeur d'Alene School Board says attorney Mark Lyons will present his findings and recommendations about the district's nondiscrimination policy at the board meeting Monday. Then, Tom adds this:

"Contrary to some letters to the editor in recent weeks, there has been no grand "conspiracy" to bring the "gay agenda" to the Cda School District. We have been simply trying to manage a controversial issue. Public comments will of course be allowed at the board meeting. However I will likely be asking the school board to schedule a special public meeting on this issue to give the community an opportunity to air its views so we can get other work done too that is on the agenda Monday evening. There will be no attempt to limit public comment at Monday's meeting or any other meeting other than the usual reasonable time limits."

Question: Do you expect another showdown similar to the Coeur d'Alene City Council meeting last summer when the School Board considers the request to expand the district's nondiscrimination policy to gays?
