State Rep. Shirley Ringo (D-Moscow), the Democratic nominee for the 1^st Congressional District, received an award for her entry in the Pinehurst, Idaho parade on Saturday. "Getting the call that we won a ribbon for the pedal cart was a pleasant surprise," Ringo said. "I try to make sure that my entire campaign is people-powered, and it's always nice to be recognized for it." Ringo and her husband pedaled in a Roadster pedal cart that she borrowed from Latah County native Earl Aldrich. Ringo has participated in a number of parades throughout the state this summer, while campaigning for the 1^st Congressional District seat currently held by Rep. Raúl Labrador (R-Eagle).
