Poll: Vito Most Likely To Embarrass

  • Monday Poll: A divided Hucks Nation picked state Rep. Vito Barbieri, R-Dalton Gardens, as the local legislator most likely to say or do something embarrassing during the 2014 Legislature. Barbieri received 107 of 440 votes (24.32%) to beat the 8 other county legislators by 20 votes. Tied for second were Sen. Bob Nonini, R-CdA, and Rep. Kathy Sims, R-CdA, with 87 votes (19.77%) apiece. Others receiving votes were: Sen. Steve Vick, R-Dalton Gardens, 63 (14.32%); Rep. Ron Mendive, R-Post Falls, 40 (9.09%); Sen. John Goedde, R-CdA, 25 (5.68%); Rep. Luke Malek, R-CdA, 14 (3.18%); Rep. Ed Morse, R-Hayden, 9 (2.05%); and Rep. Frank Henderson, R-Post Falls, 8 (1.82%).
  • Legislative Substitutes: 106 of 142 respondents (74.65%) said legislators shouldn't be allowed to pick replacements when they are unable to attend legislative sessions due to illness or other reasons (as Sen. Nonini and Rep. Frank Henderson of District 3 have to start the 2014 Legislature). Only 32 of 142 (22.54%) support the current practice. 4 (2.82%) were undecided.
  • Today's Poll: Should the U.S. Marine Corps lower or eliminate the 3 pullup minimum standard to allow more female recruits to pass the fitness test?
