Christie: CPD Has 4th Covered

Sgt. Christie Wood tells Huckleberries how Coeur d'Alene Police Department will handle big crowds expected for 4th of July & weekend beyond, with several officers on unpaid leave as a result of recent shootouts: "Some of the officers are back from admin leave but I do not know the exact count. There are 94 sworn positions in the PD. All of us have uniforms, have worked patrol many times, and are accessible to fill in where needed. We are using admin, and special team positions to fill in. It is actually not out of the norm for us on the 4th of July. All of those same people put on a uniform anyway and help out. I will be in the park building for about 12 hours. I handle all the missing children calls and miscellaneous issues."
