Cedar Planks: Hot New Grilling Trend

When you choose to spend your vacation in your hometown, it’s a choice to spend several days recognizing people around every corner and perfecting the art of the enthusiastic, “Oh! Hey! How ARE you?” when you can’t remember someone’s name. Growing up in rural North Idaho, you get to used it. It’s a small town. But then, it’s a small world, too. Two days into a recent vacation, I was sitting on my mom’s sofa in Sandpoint, Idaho, checking my work email when one responding to a recent Appetite blog post caught my eye. “You can’t call yourself a Pacific Northwesterner if you haven’t tried Cedar Planked Salmon,” it challenged me. “I understand from the article that you might be from around here (Sandpoint) ...” The name felt familiar. “Hey, Mom, do you know a Craig Wikoff?” I asked. “Yes,” she said. “He officiated my wedding”/Savannah Tranchell, Yakima Herald.
