John Bircher Addresses Pachyderms

Rich Loudenback, secretary of the local John Birch Society, addressed the North Idaho Pachyderm Club in Coeur d'Alene this morning. According to Duane Rasmussen, who photographed the event, Loudenback spoke against Agenda 21 (United Nations planning project), "Con-Con" (Constitutional Convention), and NAFTA. Loudenback considers state Rep. Luke Malek, R-Coeur d'Alene, and state Sen. Shawn Keough, R-Sandpoint, to be the worst legislators in North Idaho. The best, according to the John Birch representative? Rep. Ron Mendive, R-Coeur d'Alene, and Rep. Vito Barbieri, R-Dalton Gardens. "Vito is doing a good job," said Loudenback.  But he took issue with Gov. Butch Otter: "Our Governor was a good Governor until he got married," he said.

Question: Do you have any thoughts re: the John Birch Society?
