CDAindie: Far Right Wants It More

From CdAindependent (RE: Merica: Voter turnout was lousy): The moderate/mainline Republicans and of course the Democrats are disheartened over who represents Kootenai County in the legislature. We have the most conservative legislative group in the state and the people who control the local Republican party and our local legislators are quite proud of that. But ya gotta give credit to the conservative group that has taken over the Republican Party...they are organized, disciplined, dedicated, and they reliably get out the vote for their candidates. If you go to their websites or Facebook pages they are fiercely determined to hold on to their legislative seats and get back in control of nonpartisan boards, councils, etc.

If you go to their websites or Facebook pages they are fiercely determined to hold on to their legislative seats and get back in control of nonpartisan boards, councils, etc. They dislike moderate Republicans like Luke Malek as much as they dislike Obama and Democrats who they consider socialists or worse.

Things will not change until their is a coalition of moderate forces in this community of Republicans, Independents (that there are a lot of) and Democrats who unite behind moderate candidates for public office. And more importantly this coalition needs to be willing to work hard and spend the money necessary to get those moderate people elected. It is not going to be an easy task but I think it is doable when people finally get fed up with the status quo. Many people I know are embarrassed by the likes of Vick, Barbieri, Sims etc and know we can do better in who we send to Boise.

Question: Why doesn't the moderate Republican/Independent/Democratic majority in the Coeur d'Alene area push back against the entrenched minority Teapublicans?
