City Playground Upgrade Complete

More than 400 cumulative hours of work, hundreds of volunteers, three phases spanning several weeks, and 30 gallons of sealant. Restoration of the popular Fort Sherman Playground at City Park downtown was completed on Saturday. More here. (Photo: Coeur d'Alene Today)

DFO: Walking partner Greg Lee and I checked out the Fort Sherman Playground at City Park today, during our regular walk along the waterfront. It's more colorful now. And definitely spruced up. The new McEuen Park playground was getting more action during the lunch hour. But I suspect visits to Fort Sherman Playground will pick up as the beach season begins. A number of sunbathers were enjoying City Beach at noon today, including some with the nerve to enter the water.
