Lack of ethics costs Idaho plenty 10 

The ethical lapses that have cost Idaho taxpayers plenty are a result of a lack of openness and transparency, encouraged by the state's supermajority Republican Party, says Marty Trillhaase/Lewiston Tribune. One bad apple after another has gotten away with things in the last few years as a result of elected GOP officials looking the other way.

Elaborate fraud victimizes many 

The Post Falls Police Department and the Secret Service are still identifying victims snared by an elaborate fraud perpetrated by Florida-based thieves. The fraud involved a sophisticated scheme to steal credit card numbers from gas station customers, siphon funds from those accounts and launder the money through the purchase of retail gift cards.

School boards back parental rights 

Although local support was mixed, members of state school boards voted overwhelmingly in favor of attempting to turn resolutions on parental rights and public notices into legislation. On Friday at The Coeur d'Alene Resort, 100s of school officials voted on 11 resolutions during the annual convention of the Idaho School Board Association.
