Sleeping woman nabbed at scene
A Coeur d’Alene woman was arrested on drug charges Saturday morning after a sheriff’s deputy found her asleep in a Jeep at the scene of gasoline theft from a public vehicle. Alyssa A. Wolff, 22, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and for an outstanding drug warrant.
Deputies from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office also arrested Scott T. Miller, 25, of Coeur d’Alene. Miller, who was found hiding in the area, admitted to deputies he had been siphoning gas from a city of Hayden Street Department vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office said. Miller was arrested in connection with burglary; possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia and a simulated controlled substance; and an outstanding drug warrant.
A deputy conducting a security check in Hayden saw a Jeep Cherokee parked next to the city vehicle about 4 a.m. The Jeep had a funnel sticking out of its fuel tank, and next to the Jeep was a gas can and siphoning hose sticking out of the city vehicle.
Wolff was asleep or passed out in the front seat of the Jeep, and drug paraphernalia was seen sitting on the center console, the Sheriff’s Office said/SR. More here (subscription).
