Nothing open, transparent about R’s

Item: "(Bob) Bingham said he is dedicated to the spirit of the U.S. Constitution, the application of conservative principles and the desire for a nimble and transparent government -- Coeur d'Alene Press story re: Bingham's candidacy for county commission. Full story here.

I'm always amused when a GOP candidate, such as Bob Bingham above, announces for a political office, stating that s/he's for openness and transparency. After dealing with ethics complaints against then legislator Phil Hart, the Republicans in the Idaho Legislature rewrote the rules to hide how they handle such issues. And the Kootenai County GOP Central Committee is one of the least open and transparent operations around these parts. (See: "Party Unity" resolution.) What does openness and transparency mean to Idaho Republicans? They want local governments and Democrats to be open and transparent, especially if they oppose something like urban renewal. But they don't think they should have to abide by such annoying rules/DFO.

Thoughts?
