Moderator Kelly is star of debate 

There was no avoiding it, and Fox News Channel didn't really try: Megyn Kelly was the star of the show at Thursday's Republican presidential debate in Des Moines. Kelly, of course, is a big reason that GOP front-runner Donald Trump refused to participate.

Samuel: Closing arguments today

A delay in producing jury instructions moved closing arguments in Eldon Samuel III's trial to today. Lawyers and the judge in the Kootenai County case anticipated closing arguments being delivered Thursday and handing the case off to the jury for a decision. The trial continues at 9 a.m.

Ybarra ask 7.5% ed budget increase 

Idaho state schools Superintendent Sherri Ybarra told lawmakers she wants a new education culture in Idaho. In a nearly hour-long budget presentation on Thursday, Ybarra said her plan would “provide high-quality education while moving way from a very rigid philosophy of over-testing, compliance, and a one-size-fits-all accountability structure.”
