Huckleberries Online

Substance abuse program launched

News Release from Heritage Health:

This week, Heritage Health and Restored Paths launched a formal partnership that will expand treatment options for people with substance use disorders.

Patients who experience substance use disorders tend to have other medical issues they are dealing with.  This partnership will provide a comprehensive team in the medical home for patients at risk.  By increasing services and including substance use treatment within their existing programs, Heritage Health and Restored Paths expect to see improved treatment outcomes. Patients and their loved ones will have more resources to use when they are working through the impact of addiction in their lives.

“This is another incredible opportunity for our community to build a stronger treatment network. These creative projects bring together the right people to do something that is incredible for a patient population that is frequently left out of the conversation. There are too many people in trouble out there without the tools necessary to break free from their addictions. We have to do something about it and we believe that this is going to be a tremendous step toward a healthier community” said Mike Baker, CEO of Heritage Health.

“We are excited to reach individuals that have fallen through the cracks in the system, to not only help that individual, but the ripple effect that it causes in families and children. This partnership will enable us to continue to have a positive impact in the community" said Jennifer Romero, owner of Restored Paths.

Heritage Health has served North Idaho since 1985 providing comprehensive healthcare for 26,000 patients annually. Heritage Health has clinic sites in Shoshone County and Kootenai County.

Restored Paths provides a wide variety of substance use treatment services and has been active in the community for nine years.
