For 'Patriots', it's all about the land 

This article by Jason Wilson/The Guardian provides an insight into what is driving the Redoubt/Far Right movement that is embedded in North Idaho: The land. "The doctrine of county supremacy embodies two key beliefs: that the county Sheriff is the highest law enforcement authority" and that US govt has no right to public lands. Sound familiar?

Idaho sunshine law has sprung leak

In an editorial, Opinion Editor Marty Trillhaase of the Lewiston Tribune comments that the Idaho sunshine law has been willfully and knowingly breached by southern Idaho operatives. Now, Trillhaase wants to know if Secretary of State Lawrence Denney is going to do something about it.

Ex-prosecutor takes on Supreme Court 

Columnist Doug Clark considers Don Brockett to be the best prosecutor Spokane County has had. Among other accomplishments, Brockett put South Hill rapist Fred/Kevin Coe behind bars. Now, Brockett has written a book that contends that the U.S. Supreme Court has at times rendered decisions that fly in the face of our Constitution.

CdA to hire deputy city administrator 

The city of Coeur d’Alene is about to hire a deputy city administrator after leaving the position vacant since 2013. The job has been detailed in the city’s Classification Plan since the plan was adopted by the city council in 2002. The deputy city administrator is responsible for handling questions and problems.
