JohnA: Who are these unsung heroes?

JohnA (RE: 3 bodies pulled from submerged car): Who are these people, the ones we send out to do our worst work? Those who show up in extremely tragic conditions and do their best to provide some closure to the families involved. I know these guys, from working with them at the city, sometimes having to go to bat for the Council and not them in labor negotiations. No matter the result, we always knew they would be professionals in every way. I know them and respect them, because they will bear these images in their minds forever. God bless them for what they do for us.

DFO: JohnA captures my sentiments exactly. Who are these amazing officers and responders who handle the worst tragedies imaginable in our local communities -- and some of the worst individuals in our area -- and often receive criticism for their efforts? Also, they are increasingly become targets of crazed people. They must have a higher calling than most of the rest of us.
