Kevin: Trump can’t handle the facts

Kevin Richert (RE: Trump falsely claims he got the biggest Electorial College win since Reagan/The Hill): "I can't shut up today, but instead I have to defend my profession. Journalists quickly grow accustomed to criticism from elected officials. Many times, elected officials have taken me to task for errors and omissions. Often, they were right on the mark, and I willingly and promptly corrected the record. But this ongoing campaign from the president — and the repeated laments and tweets about "fake news" — is another matter entirely. These comments would be ludicrous if not for the podium elected office affords the president. Bear in mind, the president used Thursday's news conference to place his electoral college victory in exaggerated, inaccurate historical context. That isn't my opinion. That's fact. And based on my career in journalism, I can safely add this: A reporter this sloppy about basic facts would not be long for a newsroom."
