Hooligan Island returns
Hooligan Island, the jungle gym water toy that can't find a home on Lake Coeur d'Alene, was back off City Beach during the lunch hour today. The owners had stationed it off North Idaho College Beach on the Fourth of July weekend. City officials have refused to provide a permit for commercial use of Hooligan Island within its jurisdiction (within 1,000 feet of shore). The island appears to be quite a ways out.
