The Slice

One good thing about craft beers

Modern children curious about alcoholic beverages face an obstacle certain to help keep them on the straight and narrow.

It's this: They will not like the taste of craft beers. That's putting it mildly.

And increasingly craft beers are what today's youths are apt to encounter when they open the fridge and secretly reach for a cold one while mom and dad are in the other room looking at their phones.

OK, kids might not love the taste of mass-market beer either. But there's a chance they could gag down a swig or two of those milder brews without experiencing a purgative sensation.

A preteen trying to quaff a craft beer is almost certain to grimace, snort and wonder what adults see in that stuff.

So it's a win-win.
