Host Marriott Official Joins Disney

Associated Press

Host Marriott chief executive Stephen F. Bollenbach, who helped engineer Marriott Corp.’s split into two companies and reorganize the Trump Organization, has been named Walt Disney Co.’s chief financial officer.

Bollenbach will succeed Richard Nanula, who was previously named president of Disney Stores, the entertainment conglomerate said Tuesday. Bollenbach will also hold the title of senior executive vice president with Disney.

The move comes as Disney tries to overcome its apparent management turmoil. Over the past 18 months, more than a dozen Disney executives have left or changed roles, including studio chief Jeffrey Katzenberg who resigned last fall to form a new production firm with Steven Spielberg and David Geffen.

Richard E. Marriott, chairman of Host Marriott, will assume Bollenbach’s duties as chief executive and president until a replacement is found.

Bollenbach helped engineer the 1993 division of Marriott Corp. into two separate companies, Host Marriott and Marriott International. From 1990 to 1992, Bollenbach was the chief financial officer for the Trump Organization.
