Death Toll Reaches 10 In Freeway Pileup
The death toll from a deadly chainreaction freeway pileup rose to 10, police said Tuesday, with the deaths of two children.
Twenty-two people were injured in the accident, which occurred during a blinding dust storm Sunday on Interstate 10.
Twenty-three vehicles piled up on both sides of the highway when the winds common to Arizona this time of year created a dust storm so thick drivers couldn’t see.
Eight people were killed Sunday, and a 5-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl died Monday night.
