Tyson Foods Earnings Reverse 1994 Losses
Tyson Foods Inc., the nation’s largest poultry producer, reported third quarter earnings Monday that reverse its losses of a year ago.
The company earned $57.7 million, or 40 cents per share, in the three months ending July 1, compared with a loss of $148.4 million, or $1 a share, a year ago.
Revenues rose 4 percent to $1.36 billion from $1.31 billion.
During the first nine months of the fiscal year, sales were up 8.3 percent to $4.03 billion from $3.72 billion during the same period a year ago. Earnings were $160.4 million, or $1.11 per share, compared with a loss of $61 million, or 41 cents a share, last year.
