Guenther To Build Northpointe Motel

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 74-unit Best Western motel is scheduled to open early next year across from Northpointe Plaza, officials said Wednesday.

Construction of Northpointe Minisuites Best Western, a three-story, $3 million project developed by Spokane-based Guenther Management Co., could begin as early as next week, pending approval of building permits.

“It’s a strong market area, with lots of growth,” said Tanya Guenther, vice president-development for Guenther Management.

Single-occupancy charges will range from $50 to $65 per night for the suites, which will include in-room microwave ovens and refrigerators.

The motel will be constructed on a vacant lot across from Northpointe Plaza between Northland Federal Credit Union and Empire Glass. The motel will offer an indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, exercise room, meeting room and laundry.

The motel is the fourth developed by Guenther Management, including three Suntree Inns and a Super 8. Guenther said a fifth motel is in the works, but she declined to name the location.
