Trial Date Set For Carter

A former Idaho State football player pleaded innocent to two charges of statutory rape.

Two current players, who have been suspended from the team, asked for delays in their arraignments on single statutory rape charges.

Derrick Carter, a linebacker, who quit the team after the ninth week of the 1994 season, pleaded innocent to the felony counts in last month’s grand jury indictment.

Sixth District Judge Peter McDermott set Nov. 16 for his trial.

Ike Johnson, 22, a senior linebacker, and Thomas Washington, 21, a junior running back, were given one week delays in their arraignments.
