Telemarketer Pays For Consumer’s Ire

Compiled From Wire Services

For Kathy Chiero, two calls from a telemarketer were one too many.

“If they call once, they’re making a living. If they call again, they’re making a mistake,” said Chiero, who took a telemarketer to court and won a $500 judgment.

Chiero said she filed the lawsuit after New York-based Colorado Prime, which sells gourmet food, called her home twice in one year, violating the 1991 Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
