Airport Passenger Traffic Climbs 8.8%

From Staff And Wire Reports

July extended the growth trend at Spokane International Airport.

Passenger traffic for the month grew by 8.8 percent over July 1994. For the first seven months of the year, passenger traffic was up 12.5 percent over the same period in 1994.

Meanwhile, total cargo at Spokane International was down by 3.5 percent during July but was up 9.5 percent for the first seven months of the year.

Total aircraft operations were down 7 percent for the month and even for the year-to-date due to the current closure of the airport’s main runway for resurfacing, airport officials said. The decline largely reflects a drop in private-aircraft operations.

Total aircraft operations at Felts Field were down 3 percent for the month and off 3.2 percent for the year. Freight activities were up almost 10 percent for the month and 27 percent for the year at Felts.
