Penn To Make Changes

Compiled From Wire Services

The University of Pennsylvania announced a settlement that will upgrade locker rooms, gyms and equipment used by its women athletes and turn several women’s coaching jobs into full-time positions.

The agreement between Penn and the Women’s Law Project settles a civil rights complaint filed last year on behalf of the Ivy League school’s women athletes and their coaches, who accused the school of providing inferior sports programs to women. Penn still contends it has done nothing wrong.
