Law Firm Bankrupt After Implant Suit

The King of Torts’ law firm is filing for bankruptcy, the result of a chemical company’s financial woes from lawsuits over silicon breast implants.

“The Belli firm was to receive over $200 million prior to Dow Corning filing bankruptcy,” Melvin Belli, 88, said Thursday. “That’s the case that got us into trouble.”

The firm’s creditors include doctors, hospitals and other medical firms who are owed money for the investigation of the implant case.
