Child Playing With Fire Likely Cause Of Blaze

A child playing with a propane lighter probably started a fire Monday that damaged a north Spokane County home, fire officials said.

Firefighters discovered a bedroom in flames when they arrived at 15323 N. Cincinnati, said Skip Wells, deputy chief for Fire District 9.

A woman and her four children - at home when the fire began - escaped unharmed, Wells said.

Firefighters doused the blaze about 25 minutes after it was reported at 12:49 p.m. There was only minor damage to the house, officials said.
