Delinquent Teen Linked To Mother Literally

Compiled From Wire Services

A judge ordered a 15-year-old girl with a history of delinquency to remain chained to her mother - 24 hours a day, seven days a week - for a month.

Family Court Judge Wayne Creech, who handed out the punishment on Dec. 7, refused to comment on the case Wednesday, citing ethical reasons.

Tonya Kline said she has a history of truancy and shoplifting and recently spent two months in a state juvenile detention center for breaking into a house.

She said that prompted the judge to order her to spend the month chained to her mother, Deborah Harter.
