Firm Offers Reward For News Of Assailant

From Staff And Wire Reports

The owner of Fairco Oil Company is offering a cash reward for information that leads to the conviction of the person who shot a Fairco employee Feb. 2.

Aaron Cleveland, 24, was working at the Conoco service station, W104 Second, when he was approached by a man who said his car overheated and he needed to buy a gallon of antifreeze.

Cleveland walked to a storage shed and the man followed, police said. When the employee reached inside, the man shot him in the arm, pushed him into the shed and ran back to the cashier’s booth. He grabbed some money from the register and ran.

Police wouldn’t say how much money was taken.

Cleveland was treated for the gunshot wound at Deaconess Medical Center and released. Now the owner of the station, Dan Murphy, is offering a $2,500 cash reward for information about the assailant.

Residents should call Crime Check, 456-2233.
