Former 76ers Owner Dies
Irv Kosloff - former owner of the Philadelphia 76ers, founder of the Roosevelt Paper Company, and a highly respected philanthropist - died Sunday. He was 82.
“Kos,” as was known, and attorney Ike Richman bought the Syracuse Nationals in 1963, moved them to Philadelphia and renamed them the 76ers.
Kosloff will be remembered for bringing Wilt Chamberlain back from the Philadelphia Warriors, who moved to San Francisco at the end of the 1961-62 season.
