Boys Rescued After 30-Foot Fall Down Embankment

From Staff And Wire Reports

Three 12-year-old boys fell more than 30 feet Sunday afternoon when they were climbing above Latah Creek in southwest Spokane.

An embankment gave way near The Creek at Qualchan Golf Course, and the boys fell to the rocks below.

The Spokane Fire Department was called at 1:30 p.m. after one of the boys went for help.

Using a rescue rope system, firefighters pulled the other boys to safety.

The boys were released to their parents. One suffered an ankle injury, according to the fire department.
