Last Fugitive In Drug Case Arrested Robin Mueller Among Suspects Indicted In ‘Operation Doughboy’

Bill Morlin Staff Writer

The last remaining fugitive in the major Spokane cocaine investigation known as “Operation Doughboy” is behind bars.

Robin Mueller was arrested last weekend near San Mateo, Calif., and will be returned to Spokane, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Tom Rice.

On Wednesday, the federal prosecutor and drug task force officials didn’t have details on the arrest.

Mueller was among almost three dozen suspects indicted last year for involvement in a cocaine distribution conspiracy that brought at least 200 pounds of cocaine a year to Spokane and North Idaho.

Most of the defendants have pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing.

For his role in the conspiracy, selfemployed photographer Harold D. Henderson, 36, was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison.

Henderson pleaded guilty Nov. 2 to conspiracy to distribute cocaine, and agreed to assist investigators in exchange for a more lenient sentence.

A charge of drug distribution against Henderson was dismissed as part of the plea bargain.

Henderson faced a standard sentencing range of 57 to 71 months, even with credit for his assistance.

The U.S. attorney’s office agreed to the lighter, 24-month sentence because of Henderson’s willingness to assist investigators.

“His assistance resulted in the seizure of additional cocaine and cash,” Rice told U.S. District Judge Frem Nielsen.

After he completes the jail term, Henderson will serve five years of supervised release. During that time, he must submit to drug testing, counseling and spot searches.
