Show And Jam For Bluegrass Fans

Long-neglected bluegrass fans can take heart - there’s a new bluegrass club in town and they plan to get high and lonesome Saturday.

The Inland Northwest Bluegrass Association will present its first Show and Jam, from 2 p.m. to midnight at the Bozarth Mansion in north Spokane.

City Limits, a much-awarded Woodinville, Wash., band, will headline the event with a show that lasts from 8 to 10 p.m.

Last year, City Limits took firstplace honors at the Orting and Columbia Gorge bluegrass festivals and a second from the Oregon Trail Bluegrass Festival. It features four-part harmonies and sings and plays in both bluegrass and gospel styles.

“This came out of a Monday night jam we have every week at the Sound Hole,” said Gloria Bradshaw. “The doors will open at 2-ish and we’ll jam until showtime, and after the show we’ll have another nice, big bluegrass jam.”

Musicians of all levels are invited to participate, she said, but the affair isn’t limited to players only - all bluegrass fans are welcome.

A few rooms are available in the mansion for anyone who wants to spend the night, Bradshaw said.

Admission is $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers. Rooms are extra.
