Boy Charged With Aggravated Assault

From Staff And Wire Reports

Post Falls police charged a 12-year-old boy with aggravated assault after he allegedly threatened to kill his mother with a knife.

The boy and his mother had gotten into an argument Monday at their Second Street home about 1 p.m., said Detective Dick Halligan.

The boy wanted to talk on the phone but his mother did not want him to, Halligan said.

The 12-year-old pulled out a pocket knife, threatening to kill his mother. He raised the weapon over his head and advanced toward the woman, who then called officers for help.

The boy denied pulling the knife, Halligan said, but officers found the weapon outside his bedroom window.

The youth was arrested and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
