Usu Salaries Released

Utah State University released the contracts of its basketball and football coaches - both former Idaho coaches - in compliance with a state Records Committee ruling.

Basketball coach Larry Eustachy signed a seven-year contract in March at an annual salary of $92,000, plus yearly increases. Additionally, at the end of five years, Eustachy will receive a $250,000 annuity.

The contract guarantees Eustachy between $5,000 and $9,000 annually for a “coach’s show” on radio or television.

Football coach John L. Smith’s contract, signed in January, is for five years at an annual salary of $92,000 and subject to a yearly review for possible increases. He receives monthly car allowances of $900 and may negotiate his own radio or television shows, from which he can keep the compensation.
