Italy’s Heat Wave Takes More Victims
At least five people died of heat-related causes and hundreds were hospitalized as Italy’s heat wave showed no sign of loosening its grip Sunday.
The mercury climbed above 95 in most Italian cities. On Saturday, Milan registered a day’s record of 100.
Sunday’s toll included a 22-year-old policeman who died of heatstroke during a soccer match and a 42-year-old Swiss tourist who suffered a heart attack while waiting in the sun for hours to board a ferry.
