Group To Display National Debt Clock

From Staff And Wire Reports

Time is money to The Concord Coalition - money being added to the national debt.

The coalition, a national organization trying to eliminate the deficit, will try to illustrate that point today at Riverfront Park.

The group will bring its national debt clock, which ticks off each second by adding $9,600 to the national debt. The clock also estimates the share each American family owes on that debt.

A representative from the coalition will be joined by City Councilwoman Bev Numbers in denouncing the debt and calling on Congress to cut the federal budget. The demonstration begins at 11:30 a.m. near the clock tower. , DataTimes
