Airport Ejects Jet From Landscape

A two-seat jet that graced the entry to Spokane International Airport was sent down the runway this week.

Airport officials are planning new landscaping in front of the airport terminal, and the old training jet didn’t fit into their plans, said Todd Woodard, spokesman for the airport.

On Thursday, the Lockheed T-33 jet was returned to the 242nd Mobile Command Squadron of the Air National Guard at Geiger Field across from the international terminal.

Woodard said the new landscaping is being done in conjunction with the construction of a new hotel next to the airport.

The landscaping will be park-like to allow layover passengers a chance to stroll outdoors. International flags and plaques telling about the development of the airport will be displayed, Woodard said. , DataTimes
