New Faces:

Craig Burkhart has joined Idaho Independent Bank as vice president and manager. Burkhart, who previously was vice president and district manager at US Bank, will handle commercial loans for the entire Coeur d’Alene area, as well as manage the Hayden Lake Office.

ALSC Architects P.S. of Spokane has added the following people to its staff:

Kamela Potratz is currently developing the furnishings package for a new $18 million shops and warehouse complex in Richland. Potratz graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor of arts degree in interior design.

Demery Moore, an intern from Washington State University’s School of Architecture, is working part time while completing her degree and is assisting with construction administration activities for the new Spokane Arena.

Cathy Schmitt graduated from Eastern Washington University with a degree in business administration. Her responsibilities as administrative assistant include production of specifications, reports and correspondence.

Keith Bieber has joined Global Federal Credit Union as a real estate loan officer. Bieber will specialize in investor and non-conforming loans. He has more than 25 years of lending experience and will develop investor and commercial real estate markets for Global.

Habit for Humanity-Spokane has hired Michone Preston as development director. Preston was previously the development director of Cancer Patient Care of Spokane County.

Robin Patterson has joined Olsten Kimberly QualityCare of Spokane as the director of professional and clinical services. Patterson, a registered nurse, previously was a quality assurance specialist for Washington and Idaho long-term care facilities.

Tim Long has joined the corporate office of Jensen-Byrd Co. Inc. as a communications manager. Long was previously an advertising account executive with Citadel Communications.

Moving Up:

Marjorie Trulock has been promoted to supervisor of the Personal Lines Department at North Idaho Insurance Inc. Trulock was previously a personal risk manager with NII.

Charles Vrieling has been promoted from a part-time supervisor in charge of car washers and package sorters to an on-car supervisor for United Parcel Service. Vrieling’s new responsibilities will include supervising drivers at UPS’s facility in Lewiston.

Jim Hendricks, a part-time supervisor for United Parcel Service, has been promoted to full-time information services supervisor. Hendricks’ new responsibilities will include providing on-site customer support for hardware and software provided by UPS, as well as supporting the internal UPS computer network.

Columbia Lighting has promoted Kevin Clark to operations manager; Ronald Branon has been promoted to fabrication and finish manager; James Brewer was promoted to production planning manager; and Jeff Goodsall was promoted to assembly and distribution manager.

Starting Up:

Olsten Kimberly QualityCare has opened a new office at 501 W. Appleway in Coeur d’Alene. Gini Lupo has been named client care coordinator and is responsible for all aspects of sales and marketing. Lupo previously was senior director of consumer relations in Eastern Washington and North Idaho for Unicare Health Facilities. Mary Smith has been named R.N. case manager and will oversee all clinical aspects of clients’ home health care. She previously was director of nursing services for Coeur d’Alene Convalescent Center.

Johnson Matthey’s Electronics Division is opening a new sales and service office in Santa Clara, Calif.. The new office will provide field sales and service support for all of Johnson Matthey’s electronic product lines. The office is located at Regency Plaza building, 2350 Mission College Blvd., Suite 350, Santa Clara, Calif. The division also will open an office in Manila, the Philippines to support JME’s semiconductor assembly products throughout the Asia-Pacific area. The Manila office will be managed by Willie Sicat.

Appointed:

Clarence Barnes, dean of Gonzaga School of Business Administration, was recently appointed president of the Western Association of Collegiate Schools of Business.

Expanding:

Copies Now, a full-service computer imaging center located in Coeur d’Alene, has added a state-of-the-art Output Service Bureau. The new Linotronic Imagesetter provides high resolution paper or film output up to 3,386 dots per inch.

Elected:

The Inland Empire Utility Coordinating Council has elected officers for President, Dave Shaw, Spokane City Traffic; vice president, Linda Edwards, Washington Water Power; treasurer, Merry Gregory, Cox Cable; and WUCC director, Joe Boardman, AT&T.

Certifications:

Northern Technologies Inc. of Liberty Lake has received ISO9001 certification, which indicates that a company has met specific quality management requirements determined by the International Organization for Standardization. Northern Technologies designs and manufactures power protection systems for international and domestic distribution.

Kris Christenson, an interior designer with ALSC Architects in Spokane, successfully completed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification examination to become a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers.
