Roberts Moves To Front

Loren Roberts moved to the top of the leaderboard, two shots ahead of Davis Love III, before thunderstorms forced an overnight suspension of play in the second round of the Nestle Invitational golf tournament in Orlando, Fla.

Roberts, who last season made this tournament the first victory of his 12-year career, scored nine birdies in a round of 65 that lifted him to the top of the second round standings at 133, 11 under par.

Pullman’s Kirk Triplett shot a 74 to move his two-day total to 148, 15 shots back from the leader.

Laura Davies fired a 5-under-par 68 to maintain a one-stroke lead in the LPGA’s Standard Register-Ping tournament in Phoenix.

Beth Daniel shot a second consecutive 69 but trails Davies’ 9-under 137 by a stroke.

Tracy Hanson of Rathdrum, Idaho, sits seven shots behind the leader with a twoday total of 144 after shooting a 73.

Dave Eichelberger’s nine birdies and two bogies gave him a round of 63 and a two-shot lead in the $800,000 Toshiba Senior Classic in Costa Mesa, Calif.
