Perkins Restaurant To Open On Monday

From Staff And Wire Reports

Spokane’s newest Perkins Restaurant will open Monday in the downtown Spokane Riverpoint Development, with a new oak-andbrass look that includes a bakery, espresso bar, wine and beer.

Located between the Courtyard by Marriott and the Fairfield Inn, the 178-seat restaurant will replace the Perkins at Second and Division. That site closed Thursday.

The 24-hour restaurant will employ 60 full- and part-time workers, a statement said.

John McDaniel, a partner in the Spokane-based Guenther Management group, is purchasing the Perkins franchise. The franchise operates four Spokane restaurants, and restaurants in Ritzville, Wash., Coeur d’Alene and Caldwell, Idaho.

The new eatery will be the first on the West Coast to break from Perkins’ aging orange Formica and polyester uniforms, the company said. It also will be the first to offer a larger selection of dinner entrees and serve alcohol.

Perkins operates more than 430 restaurants in 32 states and Canada.
