Cda School Board Will Discuss Plans For Shifting Students
The divisive issue of shifting elementary students to balance school enrollments is on the Coeur d’Alene school board agenda tonight.
No decision is expected, but the board will discuss plans to move students from crowded schools in the north end of the district to less crowded schools.
One plan is to move portable classrooms from Coeur d’Alene High School to Hayden Lake, Dalton Gardens and Winton elementary schools. That would make room at those schools for dozens of students from the crowded Ramsey and Hayden Lake elementary schools.
The school district is expecting several parents to attend tonight’s meeting, although no decision is expected until June.
In other business, the board will discuss results from a statewide math test, personal-safety lesson plans, an upcoming family festival, the school district budget and language arts curriculum materials for secondary students.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the school district headquarters, 311 N. 10th St.
