Cda Students Receive 1995 Academic Letters

The following Coeur d’Alene High School juniors and seniors are 1995 academic letter recipients. They achieved a grade-point average of 3.75 or better.

Navy Chief Petty Officer Steven Largent, recently participated in a joint military exercise at the Coast Guard Training Center in Cape May, N.J.

Largent, son of Wayne Largent of Moscow, Idaho, participated with more than 1,000 military personnel in the largest deployable coastal warfare exercise that took place off the East Coast this year. The exercise simulated the overseas deployment of U.S. armed forces in a low-intensity conflict scenario.

He joined the Navy in 1974.

Four 1995 graduating seniors from Post Falls and St. Maries high schools recently received a total of $1,000 from Idaho Drug Free Youth Inc.

Elizabeth Montgomery of St. Maries and Jessica Greaser and Angela Umland, both of Post Falls, are students at North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene. LeAnn Bifford of St. Maries is attending the University of Idaho in Moscow.

Winners were chosen on the basis of an essay about their experience and involvement with IDFY.

Kenneth Heydon, Post Falls, recently earned the National Quality Award from the National Association of Life Underwriters. Heydon is a district representative of Lutheran Brotherhood’s Peter Mauritsen Agency in Spokane.

This award honors those who write a minimum of 25 policies and who achieve 90 percent persistency for a minimum of 13 months. Persistency refers to the number of policies that remain in force during a specified period.
