Ewu Ends Rough Season At Cal Poly

Following two dreadful defensive performances, Eastern Washington’s football season comes to a merciful conclusion here today.

Eastern faces Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo in a non-conference contest at Mustang Stadium.

Eastern defeated Cal Poly 61-7 in last year’s season-opener at Cheney, but as EWU coach Mike Kramer said, “basically that was two seasons ago.”

After winning their first two games, this season, the Eagles have lost seven of their last eight. The last two losses have been particularly ugly, a 63-44 decision at Boise State and a 63-7 home blowout against Montana last week.

“We just hope we can end the season with a quality performance that we can build on during the offseason,” Kramer said.

The teams have four common opponents. Both were defeated by Weber State and Idaho State, but the Mustangs lost to EWU victims Montana State and Sacramento State.
