Nic Men Hosts To Whitman Jv Team

The North Idaho College men’s basketball team returns to action tonight at 7:30 with a new look against Whitman College’s junior varsity at Christianson Gym in Coeur d’Alene.

Freshman Quentin Hall has moved into the starting lineup for NIC at point guard, replacing Steve Helm.

Starting wing Darnell McCoy will have a new look as well. He’ll be wearing a special face mask to protect his nose, broken in last Saturday’s loss to Townsville.

Lorek resigns

University of Idaho women’s track and cross country coach Scott Lorek announced his resignation, effective immediately, due to personal reasons.

Lorek has been coach of the women’s programs since 1986. UI athletic director Pete Liske couldn’t be reached for comment on what will happen in the search for Lorek’s successor.

UI back in action

The Idaho women’s basketball team will host its second and final exhibition game Sunday night at 7 when it takes on Simon Fraser at Memorial Gym.

Simon Fraser is 9-0 heading into tonight’s meeting with Montana State. The Vandals won their exhibition opener 68-60 over a UI alumni team last week.
