Chiefs Defeat Lethbridge

Randy Favaro and Trent Whitfield each scored two goals as the Spokane Chiefs defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 7-5 at Lethbridge Friday night.

Rob Sandrock and Greg Leeb also scored goals for Spokane, which ran its preseason Western Hockey League record to 4-1-1. The Chiefs play the Hurricanes again today in their final preseason game at Coleman, Alberta.

Hope’s Rullah, the 8-year-old Montana-bred gelding that won the Inaugural on opening night, came from just off the pace Friday for a neck victory under jockey Darrell Brinkerhoff over pacesetting favorite Extreme Edge in the $3,400 Italian American Club Purse.
